Bodily Injury Liability
This coverage pays up to a specific amount for injuries caused to other people when you are considered at fault in an accident. It pays for the medical treatments, ambulance service, loss of income, prosthetic devices, rehabilitation, or funeral costs of the other driver, his or her passengers, passengers in your car and pedestrians injured in that accident. In some states, it also pays legal costs and settlements for any other damages that might be paid, including pain and suffering. It covers injuries to the other driver that you cause, but doesn’t cover your own injuries.
